Password-protect a PDF file
Encrypting confidential documents such as payslips, bank statements, contracts or medical reports before emailing them is a good habit. The PDF protector secures the file with strong AES-256 encryption; only someone who knows the password can open it.
You can also set an owner password to restrict printing and copying text. We recommend sending the password through a different channel than the document, such as a call or a text message.
Encryption happens in your browser: neither your file nor your password is sent to a server. A forgotten password can't be recovered, so keep it somewhere safe.
