How it works

  1. 1Choose or drop your PDF.
  2. 2Pick text or image; set color, opacity and tiling, and drag it into place.
  3. 3Press Apply and download the watermarked PDF.

Why watermark a PDF?

Adding a watermark like "For X application only" when sharing a copy of your ID or a contract draft makes misuse harder. Marking drafts with "DRAFT" and sensitive reports with "CONFIDENTIAL" also avoids confusion.

The watermark can be text or an image such as your company logo. Drag it on the page preview, resize and rotate it with the corner handles, and pick color and opacity. You can also tile it across the whole page.

The watermark is applied to every page and written permanently into the PDF. Processing happens in your browser.

Questions

Can the watermark be removed?
It's written into the PDF. Specialist tools can sometimes remove it; a tiled watermark makes removal much harder.
Can I use my logo?
Yes. Choose the image option and upload a PNG or JPG; a transparent PNG gives the best result.
Are accented and non-Latin characters supported?
Accented Latin characters (é, ü, ş, ğ…) print correctly.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Processing happens in your browser, on your own device; your files are never sent to Quillo servers or anywhere else. Nothing is left behind when you close the page.
Is it free?
Yes. No account and no cost.
